WANTED, GOD'S MAN
ISAIAH 6:8
I. GOD WANTS A MAN WHO CAN PRAY LIKE ELIJAH.
1. Elijah prayed and fire fell from Heaven ; I Kings 18:36-38 .
2. Elijah prayed and it did not rain for 3i years; James 5 :17 .
3. Elijah prayed and ended a 31/2 years drought; James 5 :18 .
II . GOD WANTS A MAN WHO CAN ENDURE PERSECUTION
LIKE JEREMIAH.
1. Jeremiah was scourged and cast into prison by Pashur ; Jer . 20:1,2 .
2. Jeremiah was put into the mire filled dungeon by Zedekiah;
Jer. 38 :6-13.
3. Jeremiah suffered persecution for the Lord's sake ; Jer. 15 :15.
III . GOD WANTS A MAN WHO CAN DO PERSONAL WORK
LIKE PHILIP.
1. Philip was led to witness ; Acts 8:29.
2. Philip witnessed with the Word ; Acts 8 :32-35 .
3. Philip saw the harvest of his witnessing; Acts 8 :36,37 .
IV. GOD WANTS A MAN WITH ZEAL LIKE PAUL.
1. Paul had the zeal to rebuke idolatry on Mars Hill ;
Acts 17:16,22,23 .
2. Paul had the zeal to preach to King Agrippa ; Acts 26:27,28 .
3. Paul had the zeal to preach to Felix; Acts 24:24,25 .
V. GOD WANTS A MAN WITH THE MESSAGE OF AMOS .
1. Amos had a message of warning; Amos 4 :12 .
2. Amos had a message from the Lord; Amos 7 :15,16 .
3. Amos had a message of impending judgment; Amos 7 :17 .
VI. GOD WANTS A MAN WHO CAN PREACH LIKE PETER.
1. Peter preached the crucifixion of Christ ; Acts 2 :22,23 .
2. Peter preached salvation by Christ; Acts 2:21 ; 4 :12 .
3. Peter preached sermons that produced results ; Acts 2 :37,41 .
VII. GOD WANTS A MAN WHO REBUKES SIN LIKE JOHN
THE BAPTIST.
1. John the Baptist preached repentance ; Matt. 3 :2 .
2. John the Baptist preached salvation by a new life ; Matt. 3 :7,8.
3. John the Baptist preached judgment; Matt. 3 :10-12 .
