THE LOVES OF A CONSECRATED PAST0R

I. A CONSECRATED PASTOR SHOULD LOVE THE LORD JESUS .
1. Because of the salvation that Christ provides ; John 3 :16 ; II Cor . 5 :17 .
2. Because of the security that Christ provides ; John 10 :28, 29 .
3. Because of the strength that Christ provides ; Phil . 4 :13 .
II. A CONSECRATED PASTOR SHOULD LOVE THE BIBLE .
1. Because the Bible is God's Word ; II Tim . 3 :16, 17 .
2. Because the Bible testifies of Christ ; John 5 :39 .
3. Because the Bible is precious ; Ps. 19 :10 .
III. A CONSECRATED PASTOR SHOULD LOVE HIS WIFE .
1. Because God's Word commands it ; Eph. 5 :25, 28, 33 .
2. Because of the blessings his wife brings to his home ; Prov. 31 :10-31 .
3. Because his wife is his companion until death; Rom. 7 :2 ; I Cor. 7 :39 .
IV. A CONSECRATED PASTOR SHOLD LOVE HIS PRAYER LIFE .
1. Because by prayer he draws near to God ; Ps . 73 :28 ; Heb. 4 :16 .
2. Because by prayer he makes his requests known to God ; Phil . 1 :4 ; 4 :6.
3. Because by prayer he receives blessings beyond his expectation ; Jer.
33 :3 ; Eph. 3 :20.
V. A CONSECRATED PASTOR SHOULD LOVE TO PREACH.
1. Because he is called to preach ; Matt. 4 :18, 19 ; I Tim . 1 :12 .
2. Because he is exhorted to preach ; II Tim . 4 :2 .
3. Because the Gospel he preaches is backed by the power of God ; Rom.
1 :16 .
VI. A CONSECRATED PASTOR SHOULD LOVE FELLOWSHIP WITH THE SAINTS .
1. Because it is good for believers to dwell together in unity; Ps. 133 :1 .
2. Because believers are not to forsake the assembling of themselves together;
Heb. 10:25 .
3. Because fellowship with other believers is a means of spiritual growth ;
I Thess. 5 :11 ; Acts 2 :42 .
VII. A CONSECRATED PASTOR SHOULD LOVE THE SOULS OF
MEN.
1. Because he knows the value of a soul ; Mark 8 :36, 37 .
2. Because he knows about the horrors of Hell; Luke 16:23-26 ; Matt.
8:11, 12 .
3. Because he knows about the happiness of Heaven ; Rev. 5 :9; 21 :4 ;
22 :4,5 .
