I. The Characteristics Of Disappointment

vs. 17- "...sad..." - gloomy, hazy, downcast, underneath the circumstances, no color, dull-

disappointments - to frustrate, fail to satisfy the hopes and expectations of one, make unhappy by failure of ones hopes expectations

II. The Candidates For Disappointments

vs. 18 - Cleopas - Possibility of being the Uncle Of Jesus, the Husband of Mary, the Aunt of Jesus John 19:25

III. The Causes Of Disappointment

vs. 14-15 - "...reasoned.. "- to question, to dispute, to seek, to plot Prov. 3:5-6 "... lean not unto thine own understanding..." vs. 16 - "... eyes were holden... " circumstances of life clouded the eyes Don*t be ruled by what you see, there's more power in what you can ‘t see.

vs. 19 - Removal of the presence of Christ

vs. 21 - "...trusted... "- hoped, expected - The loss of hope. vs. 25-26 - ‘... O fools,...slow of heart... "- Failure to reckon that which we know to be true.

vs. 13 - .. went that same day... "Lost patience, could not wait on the Lord.

IV. The Cure For Disappointment

vs. 27- "...he expounded unto them in all the scriptures..." A large appetite for the Word.

V. The Changes in Disappointment

vs. 31 - "...eves were open ed...they knew him..." vs. 32 - "...our heart burn within us..." We will learn to live in the inner man.

vs. 33 - "...rose up the same day, and returned to Jerusalem,..." vs. 36 - "...Jesus...saith unto them, Peace be unto you."

John The Baptist - asked "Is this the one?" Christ replied, "Blessed is the man that is not offended in me." Happy is the man who doesn ‘t get upset at the way I run my business

David - In the midst of his tragic life- (Daughter raped, son murdered, baby dies, son killed) He pens Ps. 62 - "My expectations are from the Lord. ", and Ps. 19 "...good for me to have been afflicted."
