ARE YOU DIFFERENT?
And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes and was baptized, he and all his straightway.
Acts 16:33.Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature;
. . . behold all things are become new. II Cor. 5:17Paul and Silas behaving like victorious Christians.
After the earthquake, they preached salvation to jailer. When people are converted, a great change takes place. They want to go back and make restitution where possible. The lost will believe in a religion that makes people different. Too many, like chameleons, change to color of environment.How should Christians be different?
I. Christians should be different in happiness.
A. Lost not happy they are doomed and damned.
B. Christians have received so much. Forgiveness, gift of salvation, promise of heaven, God
*s presence, and endless new mercies daily.C. Christians should be happy as testimony to others.
II. Christians should be different in love for others.
A. They should love fellow Christians. John 13:35.
B. Because of their concern for others.
C. Because of their interest in others, as in giving to missions and the Kingdom work.
III. Christians should be different in attitude toward sin.
A. They should hate sin because it breaks fellowship with God.
B. It grieves the Holy Spirit.
C. It hinders praying. "If I regard iniquity."
D. It dishonors the Savior.
E. Because of what it does to a Christian
*s influence.See great change in Saul of Tarsus and Zaccheus.
IV. Christians should be different in outlook toward life.
A. What can I do for the Christ who saved me?
B. What can I do for others?
V. If saved, you are different. Devil does not dominate. You are not now hell-bound. Christ has his way in you.
