( A Funeral Sermon) Introduction: There is something about death that seems to be so final but it is really not the endit is only the beginning of a glorious future with God in bliss and delight, or else the beginning of torment and suffering forever in a place called hell. The Bible calls the saints of God "pilgrims and strangers" in this present life. There is a "hereafter" and where we are in that "hereafter depends upon whether or not Christ is our Lord and Savior in the present life. Everyone should know of a definite time when he or she met the Lord Jesus Christ in the free pardon and forgiveness of sins. What waits ahead for your departed, saved loved one? I am going to briefly share several things with you. I. Resurrection A. Incorruptible body (It will not decay)(1 Cor.15:52) B. Immortal body (It will not die) C. Invincible body (It will not be diseased) (Rev.21:4-"Former
things II. Rejoicing A. Without shame (Some ashamed in this life to shout--not so in heaven) B. Without suffering (Some rejoice in suffering now but no suffering in glory.) C. Without sickness- (When you are bad sick, it will tend to urge you III. Reunion (departed friends and loved ones) "I will go to
him" A. Lasting reunion- continual (forever with the Lord)(1 Thess.4:17) B. Loving reunion- compassionate--much love manifested C. Lord centered reunion- centered on Jesus (Rev.5:6) IV. Responsibility A. For the live we live--- "after this the judgment" (Heb.9:27) B. For the service we will give--- "shall serve Him" (Rev.22:3). V. Revelation "door opened" (show thee things)(Rev.4:1) A. A beautiful place- Rev. Ch. 21-22 B. A bountiful provision- "a mansion" (Jn.14:2) C.
